The Water Filtration Carbon Filter should be replaced annually to help you continue to enjoy clean, great-tasting water from your Water Filtration System. The carbon filter is a special activated carbon with an extremely high surface area. It contains an internal 0.5-micron post filter to capture very small particles as well as Cryptosporidium parvum and Giardia lamblia bacterial cysts. The carbon filter will deliver an estimated 140,000 gallons of purified water that is free of chlorine, volatile organic compounds, and other organic compounds that can pollute water.
